The Big Door, Mumbai (in Association with KNS Architects)

A big emerald green door is what welcomes one into this 7500sqft store called The Big Door, which we designed to give a larger than life impression. We have designed the spaces to reflect an extravagant affair of colours and materials that transport us to the history of Indian richness. Our design has the use of carved ceilings with mirrors that reflect the ethnic wooden flooring. We adorned the walls with intricately carved frames and antique paintings. Our colour palette has rich blend that defines the various setups done as a requirement for the store. We designed the indoor stairway with a delicate touch to make it feel light in the red stairwell. The walls have been treated with variety of materials which includes paint, veneer, wood, based on the theme of the specific space. The lighting we gave has a soothing effect and yet accentuates the displays. We placed the antiques and furniture in the store so as to give the patrons an unconventional experience.
